Meanwhile, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh–Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya recorded minimum temperatures 2–5°C above normal. In most other regions of the country, night temperatures remain close to the seasonal average. Clear Weather in Delhi-NCR, Air Quality Remains a Concern:

Weather conditions in the Delhi-NCR are expected to remain mostly clear today. The minimum temperature in the capital is likely to be around 17–18°C, while the maximum temperature may reach 34–36°C. On March 9, the sky may turn partly cloudy. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 172, which falls in the moderate category. However, air quality was reported as poor in cities such as Ghaziabad (204), Greater Noida (220), Gurugram (238), and Muzaffarnagar (224). Faridabad recorded an AQI of 187, while Noida and Meerut reported AQI levels of 169 and 161, respectively.

Rising Heat from the First Week of March:

Temperatures have started rising rapidly across many parts of the country since the beginning of March. States such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh weather, and Bihar are already experiencing warmer daytime conditions and noticeable heat. Maharashtra is also witnessing a steady increase in temperature, leading to an early onset of summer-like conditions. Due to this shift in weather patterns, several regions are recording daytime temperatures above normal.

Possibility of Heatwave Conditions in Some Areas:

The IMD has warned of heatwave-like conditions in certain regions in the coming days. Hot winds may affect isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh on March 7, while western Rajasthan could experience heatwave conditions on March 9 and 10. Additionally, hot winds are likely in Saurashtra and Kutch between March 7 and 10, and in parts of Gujarat from March 8 to 10. These conditions could further intensify the heat in these areas.
