Price and Arrival Analysis:

Today’s paddy markets in UP showed significant variation in arrivals and prices. The highest arrivals were recorded in large markets like Madhoganj (1,915 quintals) and Pratapgarh (1,400 quintals), where the heavy supply kept prices between ₹2,000–2,150/quintal well below the MSP. Conversely, smaller markets with low arrivals such as Lalganj (7.3 quintals), Chhibramau (25 quintals), and Mohammadabad (24.5 quintals) experienced strong prices, ranging from ₹2,350 to ₹2,400/quintal.

Markets like Ahirora, Basti, and Gorakhpur saw prices close to or at MSP, providing farmers with satisfactory returns. The lowest rates were noted in Pratapgarh (₹1,900) and Bindki (₹1,660), where heavy arrivals and quality concerns suppressed prices. The highest rates were recorded in Raebareli (₹2,389/quintal) and Mohammadabad (₹2,400/quintal), where limited arrivals and good quality supported the market.

Key Suggestions for Farmers

  1. Markets where prices are significantly below MSP (e.g., Bindki, Pratapgarh, Madhoganj), consider holding your stock if possible, as prices may improve during the upcoming government procurement season.
  2. Markets where prices are at or above MSP such as Mohammadabad, Raebareli, and Chhibramau selling immediately could be advantageous.
  3. Focus on improving paddy quality, as better-quality paddy is fetching ₹20–40 extra per quintal.
  4. Price fluctuations may continue over the next 10–15 days, so monitor daily reports from your local markets to make informed decisions.
