For the past ten days, several districts of Uttar Pradesh have been witnessing continuous thunderstorms and rainfall. The state capital, Lucknow, and its surrounding areas have recorded significant rainfall. According to the Meteorological Department, while there is sufficient moisture in the clouds, local weather systems and other influencing factors are preventing the expected level of rainfall in Lucknow.
This year, the usually intense heat during Nautapa in Madhya Pradesh appears to be subdued. Typically, this period witnesses extreme temperatures, but due to early monsoonal activity, several regions in the state are experiencing strong winds and rain instead.
Monsoonal activities are picking up pace in Bihar. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon typically takes about 15–16 days to travel from Kerala to Bihar. This year, it is expected to reach the state earlier than usual, likely between June 10 and 12.
Western Uttar Pradesh to Witness Renewed Rain Activity
Western parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness another spell of unsettled weather. Districts including Meerut may experience thunderstorms and rainfall between today and June 1. IMD has warned of strong winds and lightning during this period.
Agra Sees Weather Fluctuations amid summer
Agra has been experiencing unstable weather, fluctuating between bouts of rain and clear skies. While rainfall has provided temporary relief, the return of sunshine has led to increased humidity and discomfort. May is usually Agra’s hottest month, but this year, Nautapa began with storms and showers, resulting in a drop in temperatures.
Weather Changes Continue in MP Beyond Nautapa's Third Day
In Madhya Pradesh, the weakened heat spell during Nautapa continues. On Monday, districts like Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Ratlam, and Agar-Malwa recorded rainfall. Weather conditions remained unstable in more than 20 districts throughout the night.
