Farmers and traders dealing in onions (Onion Farming & Market Trading) should take note today’s onion market report brings key updates from across Uttar Pradesh (UP Onion Mandi). On Friday, mild fluctuations were observed in onion prices across the state. While several mandis reported stable prices, a few saw rates climb up to ₹1900 per quintal. Favorable weather, normal arrivals, and steady demand kept the market balanced.
Major mandis such as Puranpur, Lucknow, Sirsaganj, Jaunpur, Aligarh, Ballia, and Bulandshahr witnessed slight variations in today’s onion prices. Notably, Ballia and Aligarh mandis fetched higher prices for good-quality onions, benefiting farmers. Experts predict that onion prices may rise further in the coming days, especially in regions where arrivals remain limited.
Onion Mandi Rate in Uttar Pradesh:
- Puranpur (Pilibhit District): Onion prices remained stable at ₹1310 per quintal. Traders reported normal arrivals and average quality produce.
- Lucknow Mandi: Prices hovered between ₹1101 and ₹1111 per quintal. The market stayed steady with no major changes.
- Sirsaganj (Firozabad District): Red onions were sold between ₹1100 and ₹1300 per quintal. The majority of arrivals were of medium quality, keeping prices consistent.
- Jaunpur Mandi: Red onion traded between ₹1230 and ₹1330 per quintal. Slight improvement in buyer demand led to a mild price increase.
- Chhara Mandi (Aligarh District): Prices ranged from ₹1500 to ₹1600 per quintal. It was among the state’s top-priced mandis, with premium quality onions earning farmers better returns.
- Atarra APMC Mandi (Banda District): Onion rates remained steady at ₹1000 per quintal. Traders expect a slight upward trend next week.
- Vilthararoad Mandi (Ballia District): “Other varieties” of onion were sold between ₹1750 and ₹1900 per quintal the highest in the state today driven by demand for high-quality produce.
- Panchpedwa Mandi (Balrampur District): Red onion prices ranged from ₹1500 to ₹1700 per quintal. Market arrivals and trade activity remained steady.
- Gulaothi Mandi (Bulandshahr District): Red onion sold between ₹1400 and ₹1600 per quintal. Traders noted stable rates but expect a minor rise in the coming days.
- Mauranipur Mandi (Jhansi District): Red onion was sold between ₹1380 and ₹1410 per quintal. Average quality produce kept prices unchanged.

- Improve Onion Quality: Proper cleaning, sorting, and drying can help fetch prices between ₹1500–₹1900 per quintal.
- Strengthen Storage Management: Farmers who can store onions for a few more days may benefit from possible price hikes.
