Excessive use of herbicides in summer moong (green gram) cultivation can have adverse effects on human health. Therefore, farmers should be encouraged to reduce the use of chemical herbicides and adopt natural and organic farming practices. Government departments should promote sustainable and eco-friendly methods of crop production to safeguard both the environment and public health.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav recently stated that farmers should be provided with advanced seed varieties, modern agricultural equipment, fair market prices, and subsidies instead of relying heavily on chemical fertilizers. He emphasized the promotion of nutrient-rich millets such as ragi, kodo-kutki, maize, sorghum, and pearl millet. The cultivation of these crops should be supported through increased subsidies in their growing regions to boost overall productivity.
