Across India’s major vegetable markets, tomato prices witnessed a sharp rise today. With the onset of winter and reduced crop arrivals, tomato prices have soared to ₹4,000 per quintal in several states. Farmers in Maharashtra and Delhi are fetching high rates, while retail prices continue to climb steadily.

Market experts say that as the cold intensifies, arrivals may drop further potentially driving prices even higher in the coming days. Farmers who are yet to harvest their tomato crop could get better prices in the near future.

Maharashtra’s key APMC markets like Panvel, Nagpur, and Hingna, tomato prices today ranged between ₹3,500 and ₹4,000 per quintal, marking some of the highest rates of the current season.

Delhi Market Update - Tomato Prices Hit ₹4,000 per Quintal:

At Keshopur APMC Market (Delhi), total arrivals stood at 243.98 metric tonnes today.
The minimum price was ₹1,600 per quintal, while the maximum touched ₹4,000.
Traders expect prices to remain firm due to falling temperatures and increasing demand over the next few days.

Tips for Farmers (Kisan Tips):

  1. Target high-price markets: Farmers should sell in Panvel, Nagpur, and Hingna APMC, where rates have touched ₹4,000 per quintal.
  2. Focus on storage: Those with cold storage facilities can hold their produce for a few days, as prices may rise further next week.
  3. Reduced arrivals driving demand: Due to unseasonal rain in parts of Maharashtra, tomato supply has dropped, pushing up prices.

As of 13 November 2025, tomato prices across Indian mandis ranged between ₹500 and ₹4,000 per quintal. Delhi and Maharashtra are currently seeing the highest price trends. If the weather remains stable, farmers could continue to get strong returns over the next 5–7 days.
