Strongest price momentum was observed in Barahat Mandi, Bihar, where medium-quality onions sold for ₹2,800–₹3,200 per quintal. Shivhar also saw rates reach ₹3,000, while Tajpur remained at ₹2,800.
In Haryana, Gurugram Mandi maintained an upper price of ₹3,000 despite heavy arrivals of 98 tonnes, indicating strong market demand. Barwala (Hisar), Gharaunda, and Dhand also saw prices rise to ₹2,500 due to limited arrivals.
Conversely, mandis like Ambala City, Hisar, and Farukhnagar, with higher arrivals and average quality, traded at ₹1,000–₹1,540, while very low arrival mandis like Mustafabad and Ladwa recorded relatively high rates.
Medium to high-quality onions are currently fetching the best prices in Bihar mandis.
In Haryana mandis with high arrivals, delaying sales by 1–2 days may yield better returns.
Keep a close watch on low-supply, high-price mandis such as Barwala (Hisar), Gharaunda, and Dhand.
Farmers with storability options can capitalize on the current price surge, potentially securing even higher profits in the coming days.
