A significant meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, was held at the historic Rajwada Darbar Hall in Indore on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary year of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. The cabinet approved development plans and construction projects totaling ₹3,867 crore.
To empower the youth of the state through skill development, the cabinet gave in-principle approval to the ‘Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Training Program Scheme.’ Under this scheme, training programs will be conducted for the youth, and interest subsidies will be offered to those in need. Beneficiaries will receive an annual interest subsidy of ₹1,000 on bank loans, with a lifetime cap of ₹10,000 per person. The scheme is expected to involve an annual expenditure of approximately ₹100 crore.
The state government has approved the "Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Planning and Development Act, 2025." This legislation will pave the way for the formation of Metropolitan Planning Committees and Metropolitan Region Development Authorities. Initially, this framework will be implemented in the regions of Indore-Ujjain-Dewas-Dhar and Bhopal-Sehore-Raisen-Vidisha-Biaora. The goal is to ensure comprehensive development of urban areas with a population exceeding 10 lakh.
The Chief Minister Urban Sanitation Mission has been extended until the financial year 2028–29. An estimated budget of ₹227.05 crore has been allocated for the next four years, including ₹167.74 crore as the state's share and ₹59.31 crore as contributions from urban local bodies. Under this mission, urban bodies will receive resources such as desludging vehicles, sewer cleaning equipment, solid waste transport vehicles, and personal protective equipment (PPE) kits for sanitation workers.
Modern Hostels for Working Women in Industrial Areas:
In a move to enhance women’s workforce participation, the cabinet approved the construction of 26 working women’s hostels in four industrial zones at a total cost of ₹249.66 crore. These hostels will be established in Vikram Udyogpuri (Ujjain), Pithampur Sector 1 & 2 (Dhar), Malanpur-Ghirongi (Bhind), and Mandideep (Raisen). Each hostel will accommodate 222 beds, collectively benefiting 5,572 working women. These hostels will feature modern amenities, offer low-cost residential options, and include day-care (crèche) facilities for children.
Revised Approval for ‘Advait Lok’ Museum at Omkareshwar:
The cabinet has also granted revised approval of ₹2,195.54 crore for the construction of the Acharya Shankar Museum – "Advait Lok" under the Ekatm Dham project at Omkareshwar. The budget will support the development of the museum, the Acharya Shankar International Advaita Vedanta Institute, Advait Nilyam, Project Information Center, Shankar Setu, and Abhay Ghat.
