Potato farmers saw major fluctuations in mandi prices across the country today. In some markets, potatoes fetched as high as ₹3,500 per quintal, while in others, farmers were forced to sell at just ₹500–600 per quintal.
With the festive season beginning, potato demand has started to rise. In Haryana’s Hansi mandi, prices climbed to ₹3,500/quintal, making it one of the most profitable markets for sellers today. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh’s Ghiror mandi recorded the highest arrival of 570 tonnes, but heavy supply kept prices under pressure.
Market experts believe that demand and prices may strengthen further in the coming weeks, especially with festivals driving consumption. Farmers are advised to watch mandi trends closely and time their sales for maximum returns.
