Farmers, are you getting the right price for your onions today? On 20 February 2026, onion prices in major mandis of Madhya Pradesh witnessed extreme volatility. While onions sold as high as ₹1,800 per quintal in some markets, prices in a few mandis collapsed to below ₹100 per quintal, creating serious concern among farmers.
Today’s mandi data clearly shows that markets with low arrivals recorded stronger prices, whereas mandis flooded with truckloads of onions saw sharp price pressure. Farmers received satisfactory and profitable rates in Jabalpur and Lashkar Mandi, while markets such as Dewas, Sehore, and Narsinghgarh remained weak.
For onion growers and traders in Madhya Pradesh, this latest mandi price update is crucial. At present, choosing the right market is directly deciding profit or loss.

In contrast, high-arrival mandis such as Indore (211 tonnes), Sagar (60 tonnes), and Neemuch (44.76 tonnes) remained under pressure.
The weakest markets were Dewas, Sehore, and Narsinghgarh, where minimum prices collapsed to ₹75–₹151 per quintal, clearly reflecting excess supply and weak demand.
Overall, low-arrival mandis maintained stronger prices, while heavy arrivals led to sharp price declines.
Advice for Farmers:
Bottom Line: Today’s onion market clearly shows that arrival pressure is the key price driver. Selling at the right mandi and right time is critical to avoid heavy losses.
