Onion Market Update – 21 September 2025: Prices Range from ₹500 to ₹2,500 per Quintal

Onion farmers and traders witnessed dramatic fluctuations in today’s mandi prices across India. Heavy arrivals pushed prices down to as low as ₹500/quintal in some markets, while limited supply drove rates up to ₹2,500/quintal in others.

Maharashtra, Pune (Moshi) recorded the lowest rate at ₹500/quintal, whereas in Punjab, Tanda Urmur saw onions priced at ₹2,500/quintal. Uttar Pradesh also presented an interesting scenario: despite only 0.5 tonnes of arrivals in Magalganj, prices touched ₹2,440/quintal, while large arrivals in Barabanki and Hardoi kept rates between ₹1,400–₹1,460/quintal.
