Good news for farmers! The state government has started online applications for low-cost/small-scale mushroom production units under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission (MIDH) for FY 2025-26. The scheme aims to make farmers self-reliant through mushroom cultivation and provide an additional source of income.
Government announced that the scheme will be implemented in 28 districts, including:
Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, Gaya, East Champaran, Jamui, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Purnia, Rohtas, Samastipur, Saran, Sheikhpura, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Vaishali, and West Champaran.
Through this program, the government aims to encourage rural youth and farmers to adopt high-value crops such as mushroom cultivation.
Farmers applying for the scheme must have completed at least 2 days of mushroom cultivation training.
Additionally, registration on the DBT portal is mandatory to ensure the subsidy is transferred directly to their bank account.
A Big Step Towards Self-Reliant Farming:
State government believes this scheme will help farmers double their income by connecting them to modern agricultural activities like mushroom cultivation. With its combination of low cost, high profit, and government subsidy, the scheme is expected to boost the rural economy and encourage farmers to explore high-value crop production.
