On Monday, the "Agro-Industrial Conclave 2025" was inaugurated in Narsinghpur. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that food processing parks are being developed in Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, and Mandla to promote agro-based industries in Madhya Pradesh. He also informed that a state-level agriculture industry conclave will be held from October 12 to 14 in Sehore.
Farmers adopting organic farming and agricultural innovations were felicitated with certificates during the program. Additionally, developmental projects worth over ₹116 crore, including 86 different works, were inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that the state government is giving high priority to the food processing sector to strengthen agro-based industries. A food park is being developed across 102 hectares in Narsinghpur. Similarly, 40-unit food parks are planned in Borgawan (Chhindwara) and Maneri (Mandla). These facilities will support farmers with value addition and better market access for their produce. Under GIS 2025, Madhya Pradesh has received investment proposals worth ₹30 lakh crore, which are expected to generate over 22 lakh new employment opportunities.
Kamdhenu Scheme to Boost Dairy Farming
To accelerate milk production in the state, the "Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Scheme" has been launched. Under this scheme, farmers can rear between 25 to 200 cows or buffaloes and will receive a subsidy of up to 25% from the government. The state's objective is to increase its contribution to the national milk production from 9% to 20%.
Agriculture Expanding Beyond Tradition into Industry and Market
Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted that over 10 crore farmers across the country have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, with ₹3.46 lakh crore transferred directly to their accounts so far. He stated that agriculture is no longer confined to traditional farming—it is now closely linked with industry, food processing, and markets. He encouraged Madhya Pradesh to lead the nation in milk, fruit, and vegetable production.
