The Ladli Behna Yojana, a flagship initiative aimed at empowering women in Madhya Pradesh, has successfully completed two years. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the 24th installment of the scheme at a state-level beneficiary distribution program held in Sidhi on Thursday. With a single click, ₹1,551.89 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 1.27 crore women beneficiaries across the state.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Ladli Behna Yojana is not just about financial assistance—it is a strong step towards dignity and self-reliance for women. “Our country has a long-standing tradition of honoring women. The government is fulfilling every promise made to women with utmost sincerity. When money reaches our sisters' accounts, it brings prosperity to the entire household,” he said.
Dr. Yadav informed that the state government is consistently working to ensure the social and economic security of women. During the event, ₹341 crore was transferred to 56.83 lakh social security pensioners, and over ₹30.83 crore was transferred to more than 26 lakh women for LPG cylinder refills under the relevant schemes.
At the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth ₹112 crore in Sidhi district by pressing a remote button. He assured that no stone will be left unturned in the development of the Rewa-Sidhi region.
Highlighting the government's commitment to farmers, Dr. Yadav said that the state is ensuring direct benefit transfers of financial support under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi schemes. Recently, wheat has been procured from farmers at the rate of ₹2,600 per quintal.
Per Capital Income Sees Remarkable Growth: The Chief Minister noted that the state government has presented a ₹4.21 lakh crore budget this year, which lays the foundation for comprehensive development. He mentioned that the state’s per capita income, which was ₹11,200 in 2003, has now increased to ₹1.52 lakh, and the government aims to raise it to ₹22.5 lakh by the year 2047.
