Temperatures Rising in Madhya Pradesh

High temperatures are being recorded in Madhya Pradesh at the very beginning of March this year, with heat conditions appearing earlier than usual. Typically, intense summer heat is felt in April, but this year the rise in temperature has started much sooner. The maximum temperature in several parts of the state has already crossed 39°C, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated that it may approach 40°C within the next four days.

On Thursday, Narmadapuram emerged as the hottest city in the state, recording a temperature above 39°C for the first time this season. According to weather experts, temperatures generally begin to climb during the second half of March, but this year the mercury has been rising rapidly since the start of the month.

Temperatures Cross 35°C in Many Cities:

The impact of the rising heat is visible in several major cities across the state. Indore weather, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur recorded maximum temperatures above 35°C, while Bhopal registered a maximum of around 34.6°C.

Other districts, including Khajuraho, Dhar, Damoh, Sagar, and Sheopur, also saw temperatures hovering close to 36°C. Meanwhile, Shajapur, Mandla, and Satna reported temperatures above 35°C.
Night temperatures are also showing an upward trend. In many cities, the minimum temperature has crossed 18°C, indicating warmer nights as well. According to meteorological forecasts, temperatures in several parts of Madhya Pradesh could rise as high as 45°C in April and May, typically the peak summer months.

Hot and Humid Conditions Likely in Coastal Regions:

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted hot and humid weather conditions in several coastal regions of the country over the coming days. On March 6, parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may experience such weather conditions.

Similarly, coastal areas of Gujarat are expected to witness humid weather on March 6, while the Konkan region could experience increased heat and humidity on March 6 and 7. These conditions may lead to discomfort due to higher temperatures combined with moisture in the air.

Fluctuations Expected in Temperature:

According to the weather department, temperatures in the western Himalayan region are likely to remain stable over the next 24 hours. However, a drop of around 4 to 6°C may occur afterward.
At the same time, maximum temperatures across the plains of northwest India and adjoining central India are expected to increase by 2 to 3°C over the next four days. As a result, temperatures in several regions could remain 3 to 6°C above normal levels.

Maharashtra and Gujarat, meteorologists also expect minor temperature fluctuations in the coming days as changing weather patterns continue to influence conditions across the region.
