Ongoing spells of heavy rain and gusty winds have brought considerable relief from the scorching summer heat in both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed multiple districts under Yellow and Orange alerts, signaling continued unstable weather. Forecasts suggest that the rain, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms, is likely to persist in the coming days, possibly leading to further temperature drops.
Monsoon-like Showers Cool Uttar Pradesh
The recent spell of showers across Uttar Pradesh has significantly brought down the temperature and provided residents a break from the sweltering conditions. On Tuesday, more showers and lightning strikes are anticipated in several regions, prompting the IMD to issue a Yellow alert. The current weather pattern suggests that thunderstorms and gusty winds will remain active in the state for the next few days.
Pleasant Turn in Lucknow’s Weather
Lucknow’s weather turned enjoyable on Monday, thanks to intermittent rain and strong breezes. The shift began on Sunday with increasing wind activity that helped ease the heat. As of Tuesday, the city is expected to witness a high of around 38°C and a low near 25°C. With weather disturbances likely to continue, locals can expect more rain and stormy conditions ahead.
Bihar Sees Significant Temperature Drop
A dramatic change in weather has also been observed in Bihar, where heavy rain and stormy winds over the last two days have led to a sharp decline in temperature levels. The IMD has issued an Orange alert for several districts, including Patna, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Nawada, and Darbhanga. These areas may witness strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h, along with moderate rainfall and lightning activity through the morning. Residents have been urged to stay cautious and follow safety advisories.
Rain and Thunderstorm Forecast Across Multiple Districts
The weather department has also warned of possible light to moderate rainfall and lightning in districts like Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Banka, and Bhagalpur, which are under a Yellow alert. Similarly, unstable weather is expected across several other districts, including both Champarans, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Araria, and Supaul.
Temperature Trends Reflect Cooling Effect
On Tuesday, Dehri in Rohtas district was the hottest in the region, recording a temperature of 40°C. However, most other parts of Bihar reported much cooler conditions, with temperatures staying below 35°C. Patna saw a significant drop, falling to 30°C, while Darbhanga experienced the lowest temperature of 26°C, marking it as the coolest city of the day.
