Weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh are witnessing frequent changes, with light showers in some areas and hot, humid conditions in others. According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh spell of heavy rainfall is expected in the state from September 25–26, which may continue until the first week of October. Only after this, the monsoon is likely to begin its withdrawal from the region.
The weather office has forecast light showers in select districts on Tuesday. On Monday, Bhopal experienced scorching heat and high humidity, while Indore recorded nearly one inch of rainfall. Ratlam witnessed light drizzles, adding temporary relief from the humid conditions.
While several parts of the country have already started witnessing the retreat of monsoon, Madhya Pradesh is still receiving rainfall. Monsoon has already withdrawn from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, but in MP, the system is expected to persist till the first week of October.
The withdrawal process has also begun in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, where rains have stopped and rising temperatures along with humidity are troubling residents. In contrast, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Maharashtra continue to witness spells of rainfall. Meteorologists predict that by the end of September, the monsoon is likely to retreat completely from the country.
Uttar Pradesh, rains have now completely stopped. After days of pleasant weather due to continuous showers, the sudden halt in rainfall has led to increased heat and humidity. The weather department has stated that no rainfall is expected in the state for the next three days, during which hot and humid conditions are likely to intensify further.
