Garlic prices saw modest activity in most parts of the country today, but a few mandis recorded striking highs. In Jaleswar, Odisha, rates climbed to ₹7,200 per quintal, giving farmers a reason to celebrate. Meanwhile, Punjab’s Tarn Taran saw the lowest price at ₹4,500 per quintal, leaving growers there with little incentive to sell immediately. In Uttar Pradesh, prices ranged between ₹5,000 and ₹5,500 per quintal. Despite very low arrivals (0.1–1 tonne), prices in UP’s mandis stayed steady, indicating limited demand at present.
