The state government is set to make the grain procurement process more efficient and cost-effective. Under the new system, procurement centers will be established directly inside warehouses, enabling the purchased grain to be stored immediately on-site. This step will help cut down significantly on transportation costs.
During the Rabi season, nearly 9 lakh farmers sold 77 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, for which about ₹20,000 crore was directly transferred to their bank accounts. In addition, the state government announced a bonus of ₹175 per quintal on wheat. Similarly, 6.5 lakh farmers supplied 43.5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. To ensure transparency, Aadhaar numbers have been made mandatory for the procurement process, and paddy is being supplied to millers directly from procurement centers.
According to the Additional Chief Secretary, fair price shops are being developed into Nutrition Centers. The initiative has already begun in Indore district. Under the PDS system, e-KYC has been introduced, leading to the removal of ineligible consumers and the addition of nearly 5.7 lakh new eligible beneficiaries.
The Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has launched a mobile application, “Kapas Kisan”, to simplify the process for cotton growers. Through this app, farmers can complete Aadhaar-based pre-registration for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2025–26 cotton seasons.
The app will be available on Google Play Store and Apple Store from August 30, 2025, and the registration window will remain open from September 1 to September 30, 2025. Farmers can also use the app to book slots at agricultural produce market centers.
Appeal to Farmers: All eligible farmers are urged to complete their OTP-based registration within the stipulated timeline to avail benefits under the MSP scheme for the 2025–26 cotton season.
